    Added

    • Folders are recognised by their file system identity (device + inode), not only by their path. Rename or move your music folder — or mount the same USB stick at a different path — and the app re-points the base folder setting, the rated entries and their recorded export paths at the new location, so your likes keep applying instead of silently coming back as unrated tracks.
    • Move files to the destination (Settings). Unlike the copy made when you rate a track, this takes the originals out of your base folder — but only after the copy is verified byte for byte, and the original goes to the system trash rather than being deleted, so it can always be recovered.
    • A moved file plays from its destination copy, and removing its rating never deletes it: the notice says the file stays where it is.
    • Re-exporting skips moved entries (their copy is already in place) instead of reporting them as failures.

    Changed

    • The stored data format is now version 2 (the moved-file markers). Files from earlier versions are read as before.

    Added

    • A log file (logs/soundbox.log in the user-data folder), reachable from Settings → Diagnostics. A packaged app has no visible console, so until now a failure left nothing to report.
    • Crash reporting: uncaught exceptions, unhandled rejections, a dead renderer or helper process, a failed page load and renderer console errors are all recorded in that file.
    • The release publishes a SHA256 checksum for the AppImage, both in the release notes and as a .sha256 asset, so a download can be verified.
    • An MIT LICENSE file.
    • Storage now carries a schema version. Settings and the liked/disliked lists written by older versions are migrated on first read, with the original file kept as <name>.v0.bak.
    • The library renders 200 rows at a time and loads more as you scroll, and the search box filters on a deferred value, so a library of thousands of files stays responsive.

    • Release notes are refreshed when a release job is re-run, instead of only on the first run.

    Fixed

    • Bulk like/dislike can no longer run twice from a double click. The second pass would have found every selected track already rated, undone the rating and deleted the copies it had just written.
    • "Re-export all" ignores a second click while a run is in progress, so a cancel is not swallowed by a queued duplicate run.
    • A track that leaves the visible list (it was just rated, or the folder filter changed) no longer sends "Up next" and the Next button back to the top of the library.
    • Un-rating a track whose export path was never recorded (an entry imported from a backup) only deletes the file when its contents really are a copy of the track. A same-named unrelated file is left alone.
    • Empty-folder pruning resolves real paths first, so a symlinked folder inside the destination cannot lead it outside.
    • The free-space estimate no longer under-counts when the destination changed, and the progress bar appears before the estimate instead of after it on large libraries.
    • A playlist entry is only written as an absolute path when it genuinely falls outside the playlist folder; a file whose name starts with ".." is no longer mistaken for one.
    • Restoring a file that is not a soundbox backup reports an error instead of "nothing new", and an unreasonably large backup file is refused instead of being read into memory.
    • "Not enough space" shows "0 B free" instead of an em dash, and the remembered playback blob is capped so a huge shuffled library cannot break the resume save.
    • Choosing a new base folder now updates the stored setting immediately, so Rescan (and the automatic rescan when the window regains focus) no longer reverts to the previous folder.
    • The folder filter and folder list handle Windows-style separators.
